Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and managed to stay
healthy. I am slowly getting over laryngitis now.
So far, it has been a good start to 2006. I am back at the gym doing light workouts. I
am working with a chef to have healthier meals. As well, I am determined to get back
in some kind of shape with the help of a trainer.
On the political front…I met with Walt Lastewka who has promised to work with me
after the election. I need his assistance to apply pressure to Bristol Myers Squibb and
to the Ministry of Health. I am confident that he will be there to advocate on my
behalf.
The Standard newspaper printed a well written story about my re-diagnosis and the
challenges of living with cancer. They will be doing an on-going series covering the
political fight, fundraising, etc.
As for fundraising, due to the continued medical expenses, the L3 committee will be
meeting next week to plan three major functions for the spring and summer. Please
check out upcoming events in the near future!!
