Happy passport in effect day!! Yes I am tuned into travel as I am constantly thinking of
warm, sunny places I want to escape to!
In the meantime, I have had my blood transfusion, erbitux treatment and chemo
(folfiri) treatment in the past week. I am feeling well and glad to be back on my
program. Odd thing to say but familiarity and routine work well for me. It was good to
see familiar faces and friendly caregivers at the different cancer centres.
This week is filled with anticipation. I await re-approval for Avastin through Genetech’s
drug replacement program. I await re-approval for Erbitux through the out of country
coverage process. I await news from the Ombudsman on the progress of my file.
However, I know I will handle the decisions that come my way and my only true worry
is if the drugs will work again. I won’t know for another 6-8 weeks which will allow time
for comparative ct scans.
