Update March 20, 2007
Good evening… wow – another very long day at the office. I got my usual folfiri cocktail
but it just took forever… you would think I would used to it by now but I am not!
The full report from the ct scan showed stability overall – shrinkage in some areas and
minimal growth in some areas. The lungs seem to be stable. I will still wait for my cea
count at the beginning of April to determine the where and when for sir spheres. In
the meantime, I am gathering information through a chat line and trials. As well, I have
just started the process for out of country coverage for this procedure. Wish me luck!
Last week was very exciting… I got to do some really fun things with friends and
enjoyed the “normal” feeling. I never forget I have cancer but there are times when I
feel just like everybody else who doesn’t have cancer. Anyhow, the panel discussion
at the Munk Centre for International Studies (U of T) went really well. My parents and
I were able to meet with Andre Marin and two of his colleagues later in the day. I
hadn’t realized the full extent of his responsibilities and how busy they are. I was glad
for the opportunity to learn more and share some stories.
This week I am going to try to take it easy – more medical appointments but necessary.
I am preparing for Montreal – the Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada Roundtable
starts a week tomorrow. The Globe and Mail had a two page spread on colorectal
cancer and I was quoted in one of the articles.
Looking forward to the warm weather predicted for later in the week…
Ciao for now
