Hello!! Well I got some good news this week….. I was finally approved by OHIP to
receive Erbitux at Roswell Park in Buffalo. Yeah!!! I started this process 5 months ago
and I am relieved that I am finally being treated equitably. I feel like I am getting some
justice after all of the struggles. As well, I have my first Erbitux treatment at Roswell
on Monday and glad for that efficiency so I don’t miss treatment.
However, I still have a CT scan on April 10th and those results determine the next two
months of treatment. Please send positive energy that my results will be stable. This
way I can remain on Erbitux.
It has been a busy time as we are coordinating the spin a thon on April 8th . As well, I
will be doing my first insurance presentation on the benefits of critical illness
insurance. This public speaking opportunity will be a fundraiser as money earned will
go towards medical expenses.
I am looking forward to meeting other colon cancer patients this Sunday. There are
approximately 10 of us who are meeting to discuss diagnosis, treatments, side effects,
advocacy and navigating the health care system.
