Update April 22, 2007

Good evening!! What a beautiful weekend. I hope everyone got out and enjoyed the
sunshine.

I know it has been awhile since my last update. Unfortunately, the details of my life
have become more complicated and forever changing.  While away last week, I found
out that Roswell Park will not do the sirsphere procedure as they think it will be
unsafe and ineffective. I am seeking a second opinion at Wake Radiology in North
Carolina and they hope to have an answer for me tomorrow.

When I spoke to my oncologist in Hamilton, Dr. Major, to inform him about he
sirspheres he informed me that there had been new growth in the lungs and that the
Erbitux and folfiri were not treatment options anymore.  I have returned to oxaliplatin
(the first drug I was on) in hopes that it will work again.

In the meantime, I head off to Toronto for the next two days to get more information
on clinical trials at Princess Margaret Hospital. As well, I will be meeting with Dr.
Dawson to find out if I am eligible for a liver radiation trial.

In the midst of treatment research, CCRAN celebrated its one year anniversary last
Sunday.  Toni Codispoti was voted in as chair, myself as the vice-chair, and Filomena
Servidio-Italiano as secretary.  It is hard to believe that we have been meeting and
brainstorming and sharing for a year.

Advocacy actions are in focus and we have an action planned for the first week of
May.  Stay tuned to your T.V. that week for news and updates.  We hope to do
something every month until the fall election is upon us.

On the fundraising front, our third annual Live Life Large Golf Tournament is next
Saturday, April 28h  at the Niagara Falls Golf Course.  I really hope the sun is shining.
However, I know it will be fun regardless.

Although my life seems to be in a constant state of flux with uncertainty, I feel
supported and strong through my connections to family, friends and community. Thank
you for being there.
