Hello everyone! I have returned from my break. It was good to get some time away
from treatment. My toes are healing much better and the infections look like they are
gone! Yeah!!
However, I have managed to come down with bronchitis as a result of traveling. I am
taking it easy and had to postpone chemo until next week. I did get Erbitux earlier this
week as well as my CT scan. I will get the results of the CT on Monday. Interestingly,
my cea (bloodmarker that responds to the presence of cancer in the body) has
dropped dramatically. Three weeks ago it was 148 and on Monday it was 69. It was
done at Roswell Park and if it is accurate that is grounds for a celebration!!! The CT
scan will be the best indicator of what is going on.
On the OHIP front, the reimbursement is definitely not going to happen. We are
proceeding with a full blown trial with the possibility of Supreme Court action. I am
livid with the bureaucracy of OHIP and plan a full assault when I get a chance to voice
my thoughts and feelings. I also plan on getting the media involved. Watch out OHIP –
the boxing gloves are on!!!
In the meantime, I am working on booking speaking engagements and two fundraisers
for August. I will keep you posted on the details once they are confirmed.
