Update June 30, 2007

Hello!! Happy Canada Day!!

It has been an interesting couple of weeks.  After the cottage, I continued to
experience the fatigue and sweats.  The pain calmed down.  I also got a blood
transfusion on June 22nd which has now made a difference.

After speaking with Dr. Kennedy last weekend, I decided to take a quick trip down to
North Carolina on Tuesday.  He was informing me of the need to start making decisions
about radiation to the bile duct area.  There are a few types of radiation and Dr.
Kennedy is a specialist in IMRT (a form of external beam radiation).  Once the scan was
done on Wednesday, Dr. Kennedy was recommending Brachytherapy for the lymph
nodes that grew through the bile duct and stent.  This is a form of internal radiation.
Then for the surrounding lymph nodes that won’t be reached by the Brachytherapy,
the IMRT would take care of those.

The Brachytherapy procedure is one day while IMRT would be done over 10 days.  I
see a Brachytherapy specialist in Hamilton on Tuesday.  Hopefully, he will like this plan
and we can set up some dates.

In the meantime, I have been denied by OHIP for the sirspheres.  I will be writing my
appeal letter on Tuesday.  I have some time to strategize for this one.

As well, I am trying to get back to some kind of routine and focus on Summer Lovin.  I
just hired an Elvis impersonator.  Things are shaping up and I look forward to this event.

Thanks for tuning in and have a great weekend
