Update Aug. 30, 2006

Hello everyone!!!

Well it has been a busy couple of weeks but lots of good fun and entertainment.  We
had the volleyball tournament last week which was very successful. The Falls View
Hose Brigade organized for twenty teams to play at Long Beach on Lake Erie.  Although
it was overcast, there were tons of people having a good time hanging out and
playing.  Kelly Frank was there selling Tupperware. Gary Bellhouse was chief chef on
the BBQ. Thanks to Dave and all the guys who organized this event. Thanks to the
Smoothies and musicians who shared their talents and entertained the crowd. Thanks
to all my friends who came out to volunteer and support this event.

After that, it was full tilt preparation for Summer Lovin 3 – Giddy Up Y’all. Coppola’s
hosted another fine event.  The food was awesome, the DJ from Spirit of Sound had us
moving all night and there were a ton of donations to make the raffle and silent
auction successful.  Thanks again to all my friends who donated items, helped
decorate and for being there.  My feet have finally stopped hurting from all the
dancing. I can’t wait to start planning Summer Lovin 4 for next summer.

As for the health front, feeling good despite the full schedule. No changes in
treatment except that I am taking a week off next week. Skin infections have
dissipated but the doctor is concerned about the redness of my hands. Just another
sign to take a break.

I am looking forward to the Colon Cancer Alliance conference in Chicago on Sept. 15 –
17. As well, the colon cancer resource and action group will be meeting on Sept. 10th
for a full afternoon of planning.

OHIP will meet one tough cookie on Sept. 18th. I meet with my lawyer on Sept. 13th
to strategize for this event.  Wish me luck!!!

That’s all for now…. Well, I do have another fun event this week. I am celebrating my
36th birthday and feel very grateful for continued health despite chemo. As well, I am
very lucky to have so much love and support in my life. I am here because of my family
and friends who make all the difference…
