Update Oct. 6, 2006

Hello! What a beautiful fall day out there… I am enjoying this day at it has been a
challenging week.  I am noticing that the chemo drugs are very demanding on my
digestive system. It takes me about five days to recover where I have not had this
challenge before. As well, I had a cold this week and that drained my energy levels. I
am feeling much better today and glad for it. I am taking next week off of chemo to
give my body a break.

I met with a thoracic surgeon on Tuesday in Toronto. RFA doesn’t look an option but
lung re-sections are looking promising.  If the liver re-section is possible, then the lung
surgeon will go ahead. It will take three separate surgeries to make this happen. I have
spoken to another colon cancer patient who had four liver surgeries and three lung
surgeries and has been disease free for four years.  It was a long struggle for him but
he made it happen.  If Toronto surgeons decide not to do the surgeries after a few
more tests, I will head to the U.S. and find surgeons who will do it!!!

There is an upcoming fundraiser on Oct. 22nd. If you are interested in making
Christmas cards this will be a fun afternoon.  Please see the flyer on the upcoming
events link of the website.

I see Dr. Major next week in Hamilton to find out the CT scan results and discuss
options.  I anticipate a change in drugs if surgery is not an option.

So for this Thanksgiving weekend, I wish everyone a happy turkey day. This is one of
my most favourite holidays. I am thankful for my family, friends and continued support
by so many people.
