Update Oct. 21, 2006

Hello!! Well another interesting week has flown by….

On Tuesday, I was supposed to start back on oxaliplatin (the original chemo) and the
paperwork didn’t get done…. So I had another round of cpt-11.  This drug is becoming
more painful for my bones and complications with dehydration. I really hope this was
the last dose for a long time!!!

On Thursday, I met with Dr. Gallinger at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. He
feels I am a candidate for a liver re-section. YEAH!!!!! However, two more hurdles to
get over – a colonoscopy on Nov. 1 and a tri-phasic CT scan on Nov. 3. I really hope
they don’t show disease anywhere else and then surgery is a go ahead.  Dr. Gallinger is
very upset about operating room wait times and wants me to do something about it.
Since this is the first real glimpse into the problem, I told him I would try. Until now,
we have been focusing on chemo issues as that is my world.  Check out my website
soon as there are going to be petitions, letter to editor, letter to mp/mpp for people
to access and respond to.

Thursday was a very full day. After my appointment in Toronto, I went to Denis Morris
for parent/teacher interviews and sold jewellery and cards with my friend, Rosanna. It
was a jam packed day but a lot of good contacts and re-connections.

I have been laying low the last two days as I have had no energy and some pain.
Tomorrow, is our Christmas stamp a stack card afternoon at Denis Morris and I am
looking forward to that!! Jacqueline and friends are organizing this one!!!

This week, I am going to be trying the RIFE machine. It was developed in the 1920s and
helps with side effects and treatment for cancer. I am not sure if it is going to work
for me but I am going to give it a try. As well, this week we are going to work on a
website for the colorectal cancer resource and action network.

For now, that is all!!!
